New Contact Singapore office in Sydney!

It has been an exciting and eventful period over the last few months. With the decision of opening Contact Singapore’s new office in Sydney, Australia, I have been entrusted with the task of setting upthe new office and carrying out Contact Singapore’s work since 01 May.

Adapting to work cultural differences is challenging. Dealing with nitty gritty details of the physical office set-up is time consuming. However it has been a great learning curve for me. I am fortunate too, to have engaged a great assistant, Jancis Tan, who joined our Australian team this month.

While the office is being set-up, we have also been preparing our showcase of Singapore’s career opportunities in Australia. We are ready to start the ball rolling with a series of exciting events in September and October.

For job seekers, check out our jobs portal site and register yourself online to increase your profile amongst the employers! For all university students, do not forget to check out the following websites for the global careers fairs in September happening in various cities. If you would like to find out more about working and living in Singapore, Jancis and I will be at the following events to meet you.

Sept 1 - International Career Fair, Brisbane, http://www.careersfair.org.au

Sept 4 & 5 - Global Careers Expo, UTS, Sydney - http://www.ssu.uts.edu.au/careers/employers/crp/global_fair.html

Sept 8 - University of Melbourne (Melbourne) - http://www.services.unimelb.edu.au/careers/employers/recruiting/fairs/global.html

Sept 10 - Monash University (Melbourne) - http://careers.monash.edu.au/employers/fairs/2008-international-expo.html

Sept 15 - Curtin University (Perth) - http://careers.curtin.edu.au/employers/global08.html

Stay tuned for more updates on Careers @ Singapore and Singapore Day ‘08 happening in October in Melbourne!!!

ABOUT

Bay Wee Lim

Every time I start mixing paints to work on my art canvases, I discover a new shade of colour. My favourite piece is one which I eventually named ‘a thousand shades of blue’. I realised that if I had stuck to only one tube of colour, the painting would never look like what it is. Same with anything else life I guess - you just got to keep trying till you get it.
