A family doctor is registered as a General Practitioner (GP) in your neighbourhood. He/She is someone who can treat you with an understanding of your medical history. You would need to bring along the relevant documents to prove your status or residence in Singapore for registration. An appointment card will be issued to you. For visits, you will only need to bring the appointment card.
Some private doctors make house calls. You can page or call them should you need medical attention at night.
Most housing estates have private clinics and you can check it out in the telephone directory or the directory of clinics at the Ministry of Health website.
