Singapore is a leading medical tourism destination and a growing global centre for medical research and education.

Over 400,000 international patients flock to Singapore for medical treatment last year. Singapore's importance as Asia's premier medical hub is set to increase in the coming years. We aim to attract 1 million medical tourists by 2012. This could generate some S$2.6 billion in value-add and 1% to our GDP, with 13,000 new jobs added to the current 30,000 employees in this industry.
